northbrook canoe challenge

Sunday 5/3- I got a canoe as an early birthday present, so we decided to take it out in a race for the maiden voyage. It was raining and muddy, people were slipping and sliding all over the place trying to get their canoes in at the 10 second start. Kids were falling in and dads were yelling. I jumped in after a lost paddle and managed to bank us a few times before getting the hang of it. 2 1/2 hrs later we finished the 9 miles on the Brandywine from Brandywine Outfitters in Mortonville to the Northbrook Canoe Company.
